Assistant Manager (Temporary) of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Reporting to Head of Department, the appointee is expected to provide a wide range of administrative and executive support to the Department’s academic programs, activities and committees, and to faculty members.
The appointee will be responsible for coordinating and administering academic programs for the fall semester 2021/22 (including liaison internally with various departments and parties); class timetabling and course registration, student advising, scholarship administration and alumni coordination; planning promotion campaigns or events and publicity materials for program and departmental marketing strategies; supervising support staff to maintain effective operation in the general office; and any other ad hoc projects and administrative duties as assigned.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification work experience, preferably in administering academic programs, organizing events, and providing administrative support. The appointee should be a self-motivated person with an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), good analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills. He/She should be an excellent team-player and be able to work independently. Good IT knowledge is highly desirable. Prior work experience in tertiary institutions is an advantage. (Duration: 4 months)
